On our morning walk -- heard the call of HARRIS' SPARROW and had a group of
8 fly around us in a hedge in a nearby field. We hadn't heard them call
much before and rarely have had a look at that many together -- Wild Kingdom
moment.

Also in the past couple days:
GREEN HERON
GRAY CATBIRD
CLIFF SWALLOW

CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS seem to be everywhere -- we usually have a couple
spots where they nest consistently, but they must be moving through the
county.

RED-NECKED GREBES are busy building on their nest in our backyard pond
(slough), their meager beginning of a nest weathered the gale force winds
over the weekend, we were relieved to find.
