[mou] White-winged Dove in Lutsen, Cook Co.

A White-winged Dove was photographed at a feeder by a Lutsen resident 
yesterday.  The bird has been seen for the past few days, not at any 
regular time of day.  Unfortunately the feeders are not visible from the 
street. 


On Lake Superior yesterday, near mouth of Cross River:
    Pied-billed Grebe
    2 Horned Grebes
    Red-necked Grebe
    Common Goldeneyes - 12, possibly more further out
    Long-tailed duck  - also about 12  
    Bald Eagle flying northeast
    Herring Gulls from Taconite Harbor colony

Yard birds:
    Merlin flying up the Cross River
    Downy & Hairy woodpeckers
    Red-breasted Nuthatch
    Black-capped Chickadee -
    Am. Robins, returned now that snow is melted
    Slate-colored Junco - up to 20
    Amer. Tree Sparrow - so far no more than 2
    Song Sparrow - singing
    Fox Sparrow - up to 4 for past 2 weeks
    Harris's Sparrow still here
    Purple Finch - 3 birds yesterday
    Com. Redpoll - 4 birds yesterday, first seen in about 2 weeks
    Brown-headed Cowbird - 7 or so
    Com Grackle - 12
    Redwinged Blackbird - 1 male

A few Snow Buntings along Highway 61 during past week.
