Greeting MNBirders,

Made a very quick drive through portions of the Sax-Zim bog this afternoon
while returning from a meeting near Eveleth. Never been down to the bog
before so I was chiefly on a scouting mission for a later and longer visit.
Zipped down CR 7 from Hwy 37 then headed W on CR 28, then N on Cranberry
Rd., north on Admiral Rd and finally departed on CR 27.

Saw 2 black-billed magpies flying N from the CR 28 - Cranberry Rd
intersection. Briefly checked two feeding stations (i.e., carcasses) along
Admiral Rd. Saw lots of black-capped chickadees no much else (again this was
a very brief drive through the area).

The Sax-Zim landscape is quite magnificient; looking forward to a longer
visit.
