The Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter (MRVAC) will meet this Thursday evening.  The meetings are free and all are invited.

The Story of a California Condor in St. Paul

By Dr. Julia Ponder, The Raptor Center Executive Director 

Dr. Ponder will share the tale of a wild California Condor who was transported to The Raptor Center in St. Paul for treatment. She will also explain a bit about the history of the California Condor Recovery Program and the current status of the endangered California Condor. 

When: Please join us at 7:00 pm at the Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to socialize over coffee and cookies from 7:00 - 7:30 pm. A brief business meeting and the featured speaker begin at 7:30 pm. The meeting concludes at 9:00 pm.

Where: The Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is located at 10715 Zenith Ave S in Bloomington, south of Old Shakopee Road between France Avenue and Penn Avenue one block west of Xerxes. 

Julia Ponder, D.V.M., became the executive director of The Raptor Center in February 2007. A graduate of Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ponder practiced small animal medicine in the Dallas area for 14 years before moving to Minnesota in 1998. She originally joined The Raptor Center as a volunteer, working three mornings a week as a veterinarian in the center's clinic. She became staff veterinarian in 2002, providing medical care and rehabilitation to the more than 800 eagles, hawks, owls, and falcons that are treated each year.
