Sherburne & Mille Lacs

112 species over last week, including:

* 13 warblers.  Yellow-rumpeds still predominate, but Blue-winged, Magnolia,
Black-throated Green and Redstart have just arrived.

* 12 sparrows. Lark & Grasshopper both in, single Junco. No White-crowned
or Harris' here yet.

* 14 waterfowl.  Diminishment beginning.

* 8 raptors. Slow migration. Single Merlin and Broad-winged seen to date.
Could be attributed to morning birding.

* 7 shorebirds. Water high in many traditional spots. Need to check more
temporary ag ponds.

* 3 flycatchers, GC & Least just in.

* 3 thrushes. First Swainson's this week. No sightings of Veery, Wood or
Gray-cheeked yet (should be any day).

* 6 blackbirds. First Baltimores in Tuesday, finally found Yellow-headed
Blackbird (north of Zimmerman along 169).

Positive thought: migration is just late enough that the MOU Sherburne trip
could catch a warbler wave.
