Horned Lark in Washington County

Uncommon in Washington County in the Summer season

I went back to find the horned larks in the same field I saw them in yesterday. This time I got a shot of the juvenile out in the open. He was still being fed by an adult. He spent much of the time staying out of the hot sun. Both birds were open mouthed - I assume because of the heat. Temp in that field was >100º today.
