Uncommon in Marshall County in the Spring season

American Avocet in flooded agricultural fields along Minnesota state highway 220, Marshall County, 24 May 2009. Among the thousands of shorebirds at this ephemeral location were 20 Black-bellied Plovers, 20 American Avocets, 170 Hudsonian Godwits, 3 Whimbrels, and 2 Red Knots. The latter two species were first found by Ron Martin.
