Red Crossbill in Ramsey County

Occasional in Ramsey County in the Fall season

Red Crossbill male (Vadnais Lake, Vadnais Heights, Ramsey County). I followed up on the reported crossbills in the pines by the parking lot at the north end of the road between the two parts of the lake this afternoon, first reported by Bob Dunlap and Liz Harper. Herb Dingmann and Pete Hoeger refound them while I was there, and the birds settled into some deciduous trees where I was able to photograph them. I did not see the White-winged Crossbills reported by Bob and Liz.
