1967Summernesting pair found, Beaver Creek Valley State Park, Houston Co., on 7-3 by FL; seen by many observers for the next few weeks; feeding 4 y on 7-29 (BT); nest empty, adults gone, 8-13 (RLH); this is the first verified Minnesota Record.

1974Summer Apparently increasing and spreading its range northward; nested at Vasa, Goodhue Co. (observed 6-1 to 6-8, RJ, KG, JG); also seen 6-23 at Nerstrand Woods St. Pk., Rice Co. (PH); in its old area at Beaver Creek Valley St. Pk., Houston Co. a peak of seven singing males counted on 6-2 (KE).

1994Summer Many reports, similar to 1992. Nesting confirmed at three locations: Elm Creek Park Reserve in Hennepin Co. OJ; Cannon River Wilderness in Rice Co. TB, GB; and an undisclosed location in Winona Co. HVA. Also observed at Beaver Creek Valley S.P. in Houston Co. (three birds); Seven Mile Creek County Park in Nicollet Co.; Murphy-Hanrahan Park Reserve (one male each in Scott and Dakota Co.); and Monson Lake S.P. in Swift Co. (6/10 RG, RF).

1997Summer Most reports ever for this species — twice the previous ten-year average. Nested at Murphy-Hanrahan Park Reserve in Scott Co.; also observed in Anoka, Hennepin, Carver, Nicollet, Dakota, Rice, Goodhue, Wabasha, Winona, Houston.
