1932SummerThe only nest of this western bird was found at Swan Lake, May 28th, with 3 eggs (Dobia).
1934Summer On June 5th Prosser discovered a nest containing 2 eggs of Forster's Torn at Heron Lake, Jackson County. l1r. and Mrs. Swedenporg make an interesting contribution concerning tP~s graceful sprite. 11 Three pairs carrying food out into a slough three miles east of Shakopee, July 7th. Impossible to investigate, but am convinced the birds were nestiqg there, though this is a considerable distance cast of their known breeding range in Minnesota. "
1938SummerG. Swanson found 6 nests in a slough in Cottonwood Coun­ty on May 30.
1940SummerR. M. Berthel found a colony of about 25 pairs at Otter Lake, Ramsey Co. on July 12. In this group he saw 6 half-grown and 4 downy young, all swimming.

1999Spring Except for 4/3 Olmsted JSt, all south reports were later than the recent median arrival date (4/10). Early north 4/18 Traverse and 4/21 Douglas SDM. No significant counts.
1999Summer Seen in 24 counties as far east as a line through Beltrami, Wadena, Washington, Freeborn.

2000Spring Seen in 25 south and 10 north counties statewide. Early south (median 4/10) 4/12 Freeborn ABa, 4/15 Hennepin TT. Early north (median 4/20) 4/17 Traverse RJ, 4/22 Kanabec CM.
2000Summer Seen in 27 counties in all regions except north central and northeast (and only 6/8 Houston MHF in southeast).
2000Fall Reported north from Becker, Beltrami, Clay, and St. Louis counties in late August and first week of September, then only 10/13 Douglas RBJ. All south reports before mid-September, except for 9/24 Isanti CRM, 10/14 Stearns (3) WCM.
2001Spring Observed in 36 south and 15 north counties. Unlike previous species, earlier than recent medians south (4/10) and north (4/20). Early south 4/3 Goodhue JJS, 4/8 Rice AAB. Early north 4/15 Otter Tail SPM, DKM, 4/21 Douglas SPM, DKM. Peak migration 4/15–22 in 12 south counties.
2001Summer Fewest reports since 1985. Observed in 18 counties as far east as a line through Roseau, Stearns, Hennepin, Dakota, Freeborn; however, no reports from the Southwest.
2001Fall Observed in only four north counties; two reports from Knife River 9/19 and (late north) 10/1 Lake JWL. Reported from 15 counties in the south, but none later than 9/19 Hennepin RBJ.
2002Spring Observed in 31 south and 18 north counties. Arrived within two days of recent medians south (4/10) and north (4/19). Early south 4/12 Big Stone BEO, Freeborn AEB and Ramsey DFJ et al., 4/14–20 in nine counties. Early north 4/17 Becker (12) BRK, 4/19 Douglas KJB. High count 5/13 Pope (158 at Long Beach) KJB.
2002Summer Seen in 26 counties as far north as a line through Kittson, Clearwater, Wadena, Chisago.
