Migration continues with numerous reports of flocks of AMERICAN ROBINS, WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, HARRIS'S SPARROWS and DARK-EYED JUNCOS in the northwest.

At the Crookston Sewage Ponds in Polk County on the 9th, waterfowl were numerous, including a few TUNDRA SWANS and SNOW GEESE. Shorebirds found were AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, KILLDEER, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, PECTORAL SANDPIPER and STILT SANDPIPER. Other migrants included FOX SPARROW and LAPLAND LONGSPUR.

A MERLIN was in the town of Argyle in Marshall County on the 9th.

In a field near the Warren sewage ponds in Marshall County on the 9th, a flock of over 800 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS were observed.

In Polk County on the 10th, approximately 1800 SANDHILL CRANES were in the fields along CR 45 west of State Hwy. 32, along with about 1000 MALLARDS. There were also several hundred cranes 3 miles north of Karlstad in Kittson Co. on the 7th and near the Wetlands, Pines and Prairie Audubon Sanctuary in Polk County during the week.

Jeanie Joppru had EASTERN BLUEBIRD and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER in her yard near Thief River Falls in Pennington County on the 7th.

Other birds reported this week were BALD EAGLE, NORTHERN HARRIER, RED-TAILED HAWK, SPRUCE GROUSE (northwest angle), AMERICAN WOODCOCK, SHORT-EARED OWL, RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER, GRAY JAY, BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, VESPER SPARROW, SAVANNAH SPARROW, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, MEADOWLARK, PINE SISKIN and EVENING GROSBEAK.
