We can see the end of migration now. Many of the songbirds have departed. I no longer see orioles or hummingbirds although the feeder still hangs there. Some of the late fall migrants have arrived with more to come soon.

In Douglas County on September 13, Beau Shroyer reported WILSON'S PHALAROPES at Osakis in Douglas County.

Marshall Howe in Hubbard County reported a GREAT EGRET at his neighbor's place on September 12. On the 11th at his place near Dorset, he had RED-EYED VIREO and TENNESSEE WARBLER. On the 12th, there were BLUE-HEADED VIREO, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, and 8 species of warblers, on the 13th he reported LEAST FLYCATCHER and EASTERN PHOEBE. Six COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen on September 16.

In Polk County , Sandy Aubol reported six species of warblers, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, PHILADELPHIA VIREO, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, COMMON NIGHTHAWK, and one PINE SISKIN on September 11. On the 13th ,WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW arrived, and next day there were SHARP-SHINNED HAWK and WHITE-THROATED SPARROW. BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER and LINCOLN'S SPARROW appeared on September 16th and HARRIS’S SPARROW on September 18.

Here in the backyard in Pennington County I had BROWN CREEPER and WHITE-THROATED SPARROW on September 14, and WARBLING VIREO and EASTERN BLUEBIRD on September 17.
