This is the Duluth Birding Report for Thursday, December 26, 2002, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

There was a small flock of COMMON REDPOLLS in the parking lot at Gooseberry Falls State Park on the 24th.

In the Sax Zim area, Steve Weston reported three flocks of WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS near the jct. of Cty Rd 52 and Owl Ave (Cty Rd 202/203) on the 25th. He also found a BOREAL CHICKADEE 1.25 mile west of this jct.

On the 20th, Heidi Hughes spotted a flock of SNOW BUNTINGS at the Duluth Airport near the FedEx hangar. On the same day, she saw the PEREGRINE FALCON that has been wintering in the Duluth/Superior harbor.
