This is the Duluth Birding Report for June 10th, 2010 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A GREAT GRAY OWL was seen by Steve Schon on the 9th along the Stoney River Forest Road, one mile north of the Whyte Road. Denny and Barb Martin relocated a GREAT GRAY OWL on the 5th along Aitkin County Road 18 just east of the Hebron Cemetery. They also heard several YELLOW RAILS at the McGregor Marsh and a WHIP-POOR-WILL a mile east of Palisade on CR 10. WHIP-POOR-WILLS are being heard regularly on the edge of Silver Bay in Lake County.

Ron Erpelding and Herb Dingmann saw a GREAT GRAY OWL on the 5th in Koochiching County on CR 13, a mile north of CR 77.

Unless something unusual is reported, the next scheduled update of this report will be in two weeks on Thursday, June 24th.
