This is the Duluth Birding Report for July 11th, 2013 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A LEAST BITTERN was found by Denny and Barb Martin on the 10th in Lake County along Forest Highway 11 (CR 15), 0.5 mile east of the Beaver River Road (FR 397). They also heard two VIRGINIA RAILS at the same location, and heard a VIRGINIA RAIL on the same day at the Castle Danger landfill.

Craig Mandel found YELLOW RAILS and NELSON'S SPARROWS on the 4th at the McGregor Marsh in Aitkin County. The birds were heard along MN Highway 65 just south of MN Highway 210.
