This is the Duluth Birding Report for April 2nd, 2015 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Clinton Nienhaus and JG Bennett saw an ICELAND GULL, three GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS and nine GLAUCOUS GULLS on the 28th at the Superior Landfill. They also saw a THAYER'S GULL and five other GLAUCOUS GULLS on Allouez Bay in Superior. Clinton saw a GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL on the 28th at Interstate Island.

Recent new arrivals in the area include HOODED MERGANSER, AMERICAN WOODCOCK, and WILSON'S SNIPE on the 30th, WOOD DUCK on the 31st, KILLDEER and EASTERN BLUEBIRD on the 1st, and DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT on the 2nd.
