This is the Duluth Birding Report for April 9th, 2015 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A third-cycle LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and a first-cycle ICELAND GULL were found by Peder Svingen on the 3rd at Allouez Bay on Wisconsin Point. Jan and Larry Kraemer saw four GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS, 12 GLAUCOUS GULLS, and a THAYER'S GULL on the 5th at the first parking lot on Wisconsin Point.

Recent new arrivals in the area include RING-NECKED DUCK, LESSER SCAUP, PIED-BILLED GREBE, GREAT BLUE HERON, NORTHERN FLICKER and SONG SPARROW on the 4th, GREATER SCAUP on the 5th, RUSTY BLACKBIRD on the 6th, and COMMON LOON on the 7th.
