This is the Duluth Birding Report for June 18th, 2015 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

With spring migration over and the breeding season well underway, there are just a few things to report from around the area. Rick Gibson found BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLERS on Oberg Mountain in Cook County on the 6th, very near where the Oberg Loop connects to the spur trail. Bob Myers found BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLERS along the Superior Hiking Trail about a mile east of the Finland Recreation Center. Kim Eckert found a singing YELLOW-THROATED VIREO on the 15th about four miles up the Willard Munger Trail in west Duluth.

Tod Eggenberger photographed a SURF SCOTER on the 13th at Agate Bay in Two Harbors. Carolyn Quick reported a WHITE-WINGED DOVE on the 11th at her yard in Eagles Nest Township in northern St. Louis County, but I don't have any other details.

The next scheduled update of this report will be in two weeks on July 2nd.
