NORTHERN HAWK OWL 1. 2 miles W. of 7 on Stone Lake Rd. (319)

BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER 1. Saw a pair calling and feeding on the Spruce Rd. (Lake Co.) I found them where the snowmobile trail crosses the Spruce Rd. I literally walked up to my WAIST in snow to see them. If you plan to bird there bring snowshoes!! I`am not kidding the snow is awfully deep up there!!

HOARY REDPOLL 1. Still coming to the Nelson`s feeder, Duluth.

1. GYRFALCON is still coming to the Cargil Elevator in the Duluth Port Terminal area, best times are 12|00 - 3|30PM

2. BOREAL CHICKADEE found on last Fri. in Sax Zim on Co. Rd. 211 also called "Blue Spruce Road". Go about 1/4 mile N. and start looking and hearing!!

3. BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE was found on te Corner of Blue Spruce Road (211) and Apsen Road, where the farmer dumps his cow carcasses (sp) This is the traditional place to see them. This road was nicknamed "Magpie Road" too.

4. NORTHERN SHRIKES are still being seen in fair numbers in the Sax Zim bog area.

5. SNOWY OWLS are still being found in the Duluth Harbor area as well!!
