I have a report of an IVORY GULL seen at the confluence of the Mississippi River and the St. Croix in Washington County. Then bird was seen on March 13th by Peter Rodewald as he crossed the bridge at Prescott Wisconsin into Minnesota, however when he checked this same spot the following day the bird was not seen. If I hear of this gull being seen again I will update this tape immediately.

A WESTERN MEADOWLARK was reported on the 12th by John Richardson on state highway 210 near Aitkin County Road 3. And among the migrants being reported for the first time in the last seven days are PIED-BILLED GREBE, NORTHERN PINTAIL, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, GREAT BLUE HERON, AMERICAN KESTREL, BELTED KINGFISHER, and SONG SPARROW.

Many people took the time to call in their sightings this week, and their efforts are much appreciated.

In cooperation with the Minnesota Office of Tourism, highlights of this hotline can be heard at a toll free number which is available to callers outside the Twin Cities area. That number is 1-800-657-3700.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday March 23rd.
