Craig Mandel reported that on July 20th he re-found at least one adult CLARK'S GREBES with two young at Lake Osakis, near the Todd and Douglas county line. These birds were first reported July 1st.

On July 13th, Tony Hertzel reported several hundred shorebirds in western Minnesota. Fifteen species were recorded at various ponds, lake shores and fields in Renville, Yellow Medicine, Lac Qui Parle and Big Stone counties, including both species of YELLOWLEGS, WILLET, SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, and SOLITARY, SEMIPALMATED, LEAST, WHITE-RUMPED, BAIRD'S, PECTORAL and STILT SANDPIPERS.

Karl Bardon found SHORT-EARED OWLS in Kittson, Marshall and Wilkin counties. The Kittson County owl was seen July 10th on the unmarked gravel road which is north of Lake Bronson State Park, 3.5 miles east of county road 15. The Marshall County bird was found July 11th on the dead end road south of county road 7 and 2 miles west of the town of Holt. And the Wilkin County bird was at the Elliot Natural Area, one and a quarter miles east of Hwy 52 on county road 188 on July 2nd.

A BELL'S VIREO is being seen and heard along a bike trail in Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County. The bike trail runs due west from the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park and is just north of 101st Ave. The bird, which was reported July 13th by Warren Woessner, is about a third of a mile east of Zane Ave.

Somewhat unusual is the LE CONTE'S SPARROW reported at Crow Hassen Park in Hennepin County on July 12th.

And finally, Dave Cahlander had a PINE SISKIN visit his feeder in Burnsville, Dakota County on July 13th.
