This afternoon (April 2nd) I found a Snowy Owl in Western Stevens =
County. The bird was first seen at 1:52 p.m and was still in the same =
spot when I left the WMA 30 minutes later. The owl was on the ground in =
a corn stubble field 40 feet north of the dirt road & three quarters of =
the way into the John A. Scharf Memorial Wildlife Management Area. =
Directions to the site: Go one mile west of Chokio, MN on Minnesota Hwy =
#28 , Turn left/south for five miles on Stevens County gravel road #15, =
turn left/east on the dead-end dirt road into the John A.Scharf =
Memorial Wildlife Mgmt Area.
Also observed thousands of Greater White-fronted Geese and hundreds of =
Tundra Swans in Stevens County
