Chuck Krulas and I have been busy birders these last few days. I am =
trying to get to 200 species for the year 2003 by April 28. The old =
record is April 29. I am up to 183 as of today so I need 17 more birds =
in the next 3 days. I don't think I am going to make it. Here is a list =
of the birds we have seen in the last three days that were new year =
birds for he and I.
Seen today April 25
House Wren in Whitewater State Park
Solitary Sandpiper seen at Lewiston sewage Ponds
Yellow-crowned Night-heron seen in Austin
Lincoln Sparrow and Palm Warbler seen at the County 9 marsh in Rochester
April 24
Eared Grebe in Redwood County
Willet at the mudflats at the intersection of County road 5 and County =
road 4 in Redwood county. Thanks Denny Martin for posting this site. It =
is really a good place to see shorebirds.
Great-tailed Grackle at Sleepy Eye sewage ponds.
April 23
Red-necked Grebe at Lake Calhoun
Black-crowned Night-heron at Robert's sanctuary
American Bittern in Isanti county. Almost hit it with my car when it =
flew in front of us.
Semipalmated Plover at Carlos Avery pool 9 in Anoka county
