There have been many new bird sightings on the Gunflint Trail in the past
ten days.  Just today, around Gunflint Lake, the yellow-rumped warbler,
magnolia warbler, yellow-bellied sapsucker, sharp-shinned hawk, ruby-crowned
kinglet, white-breasted nuthatch, brown creeper, belted kingfisher, and
common loon have been spotted.

In the past ten days, the song sparrow, chipping sparrow, bufflehead,
red-winged blackbird, white-throated sparrow, northern flicker, brown-headed
cowbird, and barred owl have been spotted near Gunflint Lake.  The common
goldeneye, hooded merganser, and ring-necked duck have been spotted at the
end of the Gunflint Trail.

The other birds that are in the area are; the pine siskin, bald eagle, hairy
woodpecker, downy woodpecker, evening grosbeak, purple finch, goldfinch,
common raven, American crow, black-capped chickadee, red-breasted nuthatch,
blue jay, gray jay, pileated woodpecker, ruffed grouse, ring-billed gull,
American robin, turkey vulture, common grackle, mallard duck, common
merganser, and dark-eyed junco.
