Rice Lake is in northern Faribault county between Winnebago and Delavan. =
The lake is not very deep and has been pulled down this summer to a =
very low level. There are acres of mudflats right now. We stopped at =
the south end this afternoon at the public access. There were hundreds =
of shorebirds and also quite a few waterfowl, herons and egrets. You =
need a good scope to have a good look, too far for binocs.
