This afternoon there was a group of 4 Red-necked Phalaropes in the pond =
to the south of Cnty. Rd. 30 in the New Germany/Crane Creek area. Other =
shorebirds present:
-Greater Yellowlegs
-Lesser Yellowlegs
-Solitary Sandpiper
-Spotted Sandpiper
-Pectoral Sandpiper
-Baird's Sandpiper
-Least Sandpiper
-Semipalmated Sandpiper
-Stilt Sandpiper
-Wilson's Phalarope
-Killdeer

These mudflats and the ones on the north side of Cnty. Rd. 30 between =
Yancy and Yale Ave. were loaded with shorebirds. The ponds are quickly =
drying up, though, and the area needs rain to keep the ponds wet enough.
Good birding!
