A walk around Cottonwood Lake (NE corner of Lyon County)yielded the =
following species:
500-600 Canada Geese with 1 snow Goose among them.
8 white pelicans=20
blue jays
white breasted nuthatches
several small flocks of dark-eyed juncos
3 great blue heron=20
belted kingfisher
chickadees (black cappped)
ring billed gulls
blue wing teal
lesser scaup
solitary sandpiper (a nice surprise!)
house sparrows
1 lone tree sparrow
American robins
goldfinches
purple finches
mallards
1 mourning dove
ring necked pheasant
4 muskrats
1 pied grebe
