4:10pm, Nov 3. Adult male Varied Thrush at Resurrection Cemetery, =
Mendota Heights. Directions: From Lexington Ave., enter cemetery and =
take first right (north) and go about 1/4 mile to 2 stucco buildings =
(old offices). Follow road hard to left so that you are heading SW. Go =
about 150 yards to first right turn. You will see red fruit trees =
(Prunus sp) on your right. There is a statuette of the Virgin Mary with =
the name Karas on the tombstone. This is the area. There were about 100 =
E. Starlings plus about 40 Am. Robins in these trees. I just happened to =
spot the V. Thrush after looking at only 2 robins, so a little luck =
never hurts. The Thrush is characteristically a bit skitterish, so be =
cautious.
