The Aitkin area is full of Rough-legged Hawks.  We saw
7 driving the roads NE of town in about 2 hours.

Had a dozen Sharp-Tailed Grouse at the blinds DNR
blinds.

MilleLacs has many Goldeneyes and Common Mergansers
plus a gorgeous pair of Otters.

Spring passerines are huddled close to the lake --
Phoebe, Fox Sparrows, Yellowrumps, Wooodcock.

No SHort-eared Owls
No Great Gray Owl on Pietz road.
