Just a quickie...two days ago around Sherburne NWR I came across, in two =
different locations, vesper sparrows singing away and acting very =
tame...or tired. One was directly across from my car window, singing =
relentlessly a few feet away. I made the mistake I always do at the =
start of spring and first thought it was a song sparrow. Later, I came =
across another vesper singing away and hopping down to the edge of the =
dirt road, staying there as I drove right next to it. Very tame. It =
wanted its dirt.
This morning I was awakened to the shriekings of one or more =
broad-tailed hawks, around 6 AM. Shriek shriek shriek, over a couple of =
minutes that seemed much longer, tho I was happy to hear it/them at the =
same time.
