Some more information and details on the Cedar Creek CBC which is centered on the Cedar Creek Natural History Area which is
located approximately two miles east of Highway 65 and about a mile south of the Anoka - Isanti border.

The Red-headed Woodpeckers are north of Anoka County Road 26 in the square mile between East Bethel Boulevard and Durant
(Anoka County 15). All of them were on the Cedar Creek area, and none at the feeders in the adjacent subdivision. The
areas with scattered oaks have the most woodpeckers. They are almost always in the savannah and not in the thick woods.
The Cedar Creek Natural History Area is owned by the University of Minnesota and is not open for birding. It is my
understanding that these birds can sometimes be seen from outside the boundary. Red-headed Woodpeckers have been found in
21 out of the last 25 years in this area. The 11 birds counted is the second highest number.

Northern Harriers, reported as a first count record, have been seen before. The 4 found is a new high count.

Record high counts included:
Red-tailed Hawk: 15
Belted Kingfisher 3
Red-bellied WP 17
N. Cardinal 44
