I went to New Ulm today to see the Common Moorhens. As I arrived about =
9:30
AM I saw one of the adults out in the open. I stopped fairly far away =
and
as I watched, out came the other Adult along with 8 downy chicks. They =
were
on the north side of hwy 14 about 3 miles west of the mileage sign for
Essig/Sleepy Eye as previously reported. They only stayed out in the =
open
for about 2-3 minutes, then went back in the reeds. They were mostly =
hidden
for the rest of the hour that I spent there.
