While birding today (July 17th) in the northern suburb of Fridley, I
encountered a tiny flock of migrant warblers consisting of a Tennessee, a
Northern Parula, and a Black-and-white. They appeared to be associating
with a pair of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers which also seemed to be on the move.
Not too unusual to find stray warblers by this time in July, but I seldom
find mixed species traveling together until sometime in August. This is
also only my second July sighting of a N. Parula in the metro area.
