Some of the things have already been mentioned but the SNOWY OWL was
still present this last weekend and several birders got a great show of
the owl swallowing a large mouse Saturday night. This afternoon around
4:30 there were two GREAT GRAY OWLS along C.R.18, the first was about
1/2 mile west of Pietz's Road and the second was about 1 & 2/10 miles
west of Pietz's Road. There was also a BARRED OWL about 2/10 mile west.
There was also a report of a birder seeing 2 LONG-EARED OWLS late on
Friday evening about a mile west of Pietz's Road. Other birds seen this
last weekend: GRAY JAYS, 23 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, TRUMPETER SWANS, HOODED
MERGANSERS, MALLARDS, CANADA GEESE, several KESTRALS, several RED-TAILED
HAWKS. Warren Nelson
