Even in Tuesday's steady mist, County Road 18 between Hwy 169 and CR 5 in
Aitkin County continued to be as advertised.

Our highlights were similar to what others have reported:
Rough-legged Hawk (at least 5)
Common Redpoll
Northern Hawk Owl (especially observable near what appears to be a sort of
big beige double-wide Porta Potty -- what is that thing?)
Gray Jay
Great Gray Owl (at eye level within 10 yards!)

When the owl flew, one of the Gray Jays flew in to heap about 10 minutes of
avian profanity upon the head of the GGOwl. We think we heard every
possible Jay curse word -- and that's quite a few! note: We saw the GGOwl
at about 3:30 in the afternoon.
