Daivd, thank you for all of the info! I may end up a "Birder" as I =
now wake up with the field glasses out looking for the little bugger! =
Alot of folks here today, and a bunch of them spotted him (the =
nutcracker) this morning, about two doors down law drive (left of my =
home), and folks have been looking most of the day for him!=20

I'll say one thing you are a "hardy" bunch of folks, it was below =
freezing this morning and 20-25 mile hour winds, and there were all the =
bird watchers!! I told them all they were very welcome in my yard, =
seem like a great bunch!!

Thanks again for explaining about the bird!

Pat Brennan

The information passed around about the Clark's Nutcracker is =
available via email to about 400 birders in Minnesota. A transcripts =
page is available at:

      http://cbs.umn.edu/pipermail/mou-net/2004-October/thread.html

Go to the bottom of the page and look for Clark's Nutcracker in the =
subject.

The web site for Minnesota birding is:

      http://www.cbs.umn.edu/~mou/

Why is it important? Birders have lists of birds that they have seen. =
Its a little like collecting stamps, where you try to get as many as =
you can. Many of the Minnesota birders have lists of birds that they =
have seen in the state. To increase the number of birds seen in the =
state, they need to run to wherever a new bird is spotted. That is why =
you are seeing so many birders. I assume that the birders leave when =
they have seen the bird and the bird has gone away.

In addition to lists of birds seen in the state, you have birds seen =
in North America, in the World, in a particular county in Minnesota, in =
a particular month, or even on a particular day. It really is just a =
reason to get out in the open and see something new.
