Tuesday, October 26, 2004.

Barred Owl-- along cty rd 133 near the intersection of cty rd 7 in the
Sax-Zim area at 7:20 a.m.

Northern Hawk Owl --along hwy 2, 7 miles west of the town of Floodwood
at 2:30 p.m.

Great Gray Owl--along cty rd 18, north of Palisade at 4:45 p.m.

All three owls were in trees, alongside the road and were watching the
culverts below, apparently searching for prey. We had excellent looks
at the Northern Hawk Owl through the scope and watched it dive into the
grass, then fly up and back into the woods, apparently with some type
of prey.
