The Snowy Owl in Goodhue county located along
US 52 at mile marker 85 was present Sunday 12/11
at 2:45PM and on Monday 12/12 at 4PM.
I've seen the bird 3 times including the initial observation
and each time the bird was sitting on the 1st power pole
north of mile marker 85 on the east side of the road.
The shoulder of the road is fairly wide there and gives
ample room to pull completely off the road for
safety's sake.
Note that there is a farmer's driveway there but it
is private property and the entrance to the home
so please do not block it in any way.
The bird appears to be a first year bird, there is
some natal down still showing on it's neck and
perhaps the back of the head as well.
