Meet in Garrison at the McDonald's fast food parking lot at 8am.
November 4-5 "Annual MOU Trip to Cook Co."
Base: Duluth/Grand Marais Meet at 40th Ave. West Perkins Restaurant =
parking lot on Nov. 4th at 7am. Be Back in Duluth on Nov. 5 at 4-5pm. =
(weekend trip)
November 18th "Twin Cities one day Trip" Meet at Black Dog Lake Park & =
Ride parking lot located on Cliff Rd. at 8am.
2006 MOU Boat Trips on Lake Superior
---------------------------------------------
* Last year Tom Auer organized 2 boat trips last Fall and they were a =
huge success and the boats filled up FAST! I talked to Dan Rau last =
Fall and he is eager to have birders use the UWS research vessel for =
organized boat trips on Lake Superior. Capt. Dan will be taking =
reservations in January of 2006 for use of the boat.
* Here are the dates I am going after:
- June 3rd I am excited about this for many reasons. Red-throated =
Loons peak in migration around this time on Lake Superior and there is =
always the chance to pick up some other artic bound bird out on Lake =
Superior.
-September 9th Should be peak for terns/small gulls and possibly Sabine =
Gulls or a Artic Tern could be found on this trip.
September 23 With Hawk Ridge Weekend being that weekend as well as the =
Annual WSO (Wisconsin state bird club) trip to WI Pt. It makes sense to =
offer a boat trip with so many birders around!
October 7th Good time of the year to look for Red Phalaropes and other =
artic species.

Well there you have it! I like to thank Kim Eckert who worked with me =
so our schedules did not conflict with each other to much.
If you are interested in the winter trip or any of the future trips let =
me know thru email ASAP. I will make field trips announcements as dates =
approach if I am still looking for more participants. I will cancel =
field trips if I get less then 7 participants. =20
** Do not make reservations for any of the boat trips! I will make =
another announcement on boat trips as soon as the dates are confirm. I =
only listed the above dates so you know I had bird trips plan for June =
and September. **
