Snowy Owl (pure white face and grayish body) first observed by Beth and =
Ben Hamel at about 7:50 am on 12/16/05 when leaving house to take son to =
school.=20
Owl was perched on roof of small house in the 1770s block of Scheffer =
Ave. in St. Paul's Highland Park neighborhood. =20
Huge flock of crows were dive-bombing the owl from a nearby silver maple =
tree. =20
Owl still perched on roof when I returned at about 8:10. I stood and =
watched it until it finally flew (with crows in pursuit) at about 8:17. =
It was headed in the direction of the College of St. Catherine.
We have noticed other crow disturbances over the last week-to-10 days, =
but this is the first time I've spotted an owl.
