Hi everyone,
We tallied 46 different species in the field on our count today. =
Highlights included:
2 Trumpeter Swans
Mute Swan
Common Goldeneye
Am. Coot
Red-shouldered Hawk
Red-headed Woodpecker
Belted Kingfisher
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Purple Finch
and Rough-legged Hawk.
Lapland Longspurs and Snow Buntings ended up being quite common today, =
being seen in several regions. First time in years.
Misses today included owls, with only a single Barred Owl being seen. We =
will have a Great-horned Owl for count week as well as Eastern =
Bluebirds, with the latter being seen at a birdbath yesterday.
I hope everyone's counts are filled with loads of rare birds!
Happy Holidays!
