On our 4th attempt to see the snowies, we were rewarded today with 3 of
them.

When we arrived at the airport a little after 3:00 pm, we went directly
to the UPS parking lot where some other people were viewing a snowy that
was pretty far away. We decided to go see if we could get a closer view
from the cul-de-sac by the FedEx buildings. On the way to the
cul-de-sac, we saw another snowy on one of the yellow 35-17 runway
signs. It was visible on the left before entering the 2nd tunnel. We
were able to watch it for several minutes before it was scared down the
runway by a landing plane. After watching that one for a while, we went
to the cul-de-sac to look for the 1st owl again. It was not visible
from there. On the way back through the 2nd tunnel, we were looking for
the 2nd snowy again when we saw a snowy flying. It turned out to be a
possible 3rd snowy. We were informed that it had chased the 2nd owl,
which ended up over by the big dirt pile. We went back to the UPS
parking lot to see if the 1st owl was still over there, and it was so we
had 3 confirmed snowies!! We drove back to where the 3rd owl was and
followed it to the 2680 building and got some close views of a female
that looks like the one posted on Recently Seen. After a few minutes of
looking around from on top of the building, she took off over the fence
and out of sight.

We would like to thank the people who had dog Daisy with them for
helping us see owls 1 & 3, for sharing their scope and for letting the
security guard know what all of us were doing so he wouldn't call the
cops.

After leaving MSP, we went to Black Dog Lake on our 2nd attempt to see
the Kittiwake. No luck.
