We traveled with the Carolina Bird Club to Minnesota in February and our expenses were as follows:

Fee for the trip which included lodging, van rental, local guide service and gas was $495 x 2.
Our food expenses were $312.
Our miscellaneous expenses were $85 (sunglasses, water, hand and foot warmers, stamps, postcards, etc.)
Air fare from Charlotte, NC to Duluth was $330 x 2.
Expenses on MN Lottery:  $60    

We had a great time and want to return again.  Thanks for having us.
