Yesterday afternoon, I saw at least 60 sandhill cranes near the public =
boat launch in town, milling about, as though searching for a spot to =
land. They disappeared to the east. At about 4:30PM, there was a large =
flock(75-100) of canada geese grazing on the grass next to the Point =
Douglas beach while I was watching hooded and common mergansers in the =
open water. One of those birds on the grass was a white fronted goose, a =
first for me.
