I checked out Lake Byllesby today and was rewarded with 6 Tundra Swans and 2
Trumpeter Swans. Killdeer are definitely on the increase. I also saw
Northern Pintail drakes and at least one American Wigeon on the lake. Byllesby is
starting to open up nicely! A Song Sparrow was singing at the 140th St.
Marsh (which is still ice covered.) He was teed up for a nice look, too.
As I checked out Wells Lake in Rice County I saw one Pied-billed Grebe along
with a good variety of ducks.
