John Hockema just called me to report that the Piping Plover at Mud Lake in Winona County was last seen around 9:00 this morning. It apparently took off with a flock of shorebirds after a Peregrine Falcon spooked the birds. It has not been relocated since. However, around 12:30 today, a Snowy Egret was found in the same Mud Lake area. Bob Dunlap, Nicolett County
