Looked for the Grackle today, but, never saw it. If anyone looks for it =
tomorrow the road is actually 160th street not 165th. =20

I found a male Great-tailed Grackle today (Friday, May 13, 2005) in =
Southeastern Stearns County at 1:52 p.m. I first saw and heard the bird =
perched on a fence post 20 feet from my vehicle.

Location: The NE1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 25 of Luxemburg Township =
in Stearns County
Directions:
From the intersection of Highway 23 and Stearns County Rd 2 in Cold =
Spring, MN go south on Co. Rd 2 =20
toward Watkins, MN for approximately 5 and 1/4miles, =20
Turn left/east on 175th Street (gravel road) and go east 1and =BD =
miles,
Turn right/south on 133rd Avenue (gravel road) and go south 1 and =BD =
miles,
Turn right/west on 165th Street (gravel road) and go west =
approximately six tenths of a mile,
The bird was seen and heard on a fence post adjacent to the east side =
of the road (165th Street) @ 1:52 p.m., It then flew to and landed in =
the cattails in the small slough approximately 50 yards east of the road =
and later (@ 2:55 p.m.) was again
seen on the ground in the cow pasture adjacent to the east side of the =
slough. Note: There were also Common Grackles, Yellow-headed Blackbirds =
and Red-winged Blackbirds in the cattails.=20
