When i got home from work tonight, after yet another cool rainy day, and sat out on the back porch, my spirits lifted when some colorful birds visited the yard including Blackburnian Warb., Tennessee W., Cape May W., Ovenbird, Am. Redstart, Nashville W., a likely waterthrush (heard a loud chip by the creek), and also Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Baltimore Orioles. And while Am. Goldfinches may be common, they sure light up the feeders! And of course the sparrows (white-throated & song), p. siskins, woodpeckers (downy, hairy, pileated), nuthatches (white-breasted), chickadees, robins, etc. were all out. Nice way to finish up an otherwise dreary day.
