A morning up the shore, with some good migration provided me with these two=
=20
gems.
LECONTE'S SPARROW at Flood Bay, in Lake County, north of Two Harbors. One=
=20
juvenile was on the edge of the marshy habitat that is accessed by walking=
=20
southwest from the parking lot.
A juvenile RED-HEADED WOODPECKER seen briefly at Stony Point this morning.=
=20
The bird landed on a birch tree near the parking spot at the overlook, hop=
=20
around for a few seconds and then left, heading southwest.
Nothing compared to the menagerie of rare birds Mike Hendrickson discovered=
=20
at Superior Entry this morning, here's a preview: Sabine's Gull (2),=20
Long-tailed Jaeger, Arctic Tern, and Pacific Loon.
The birding is out of sight in Duluth!!
