Friday, Sept. 23, our normal banding time at Carpenter Nature Center along the St. Croix River yielded some birds I did not want to see yet. Brown Creepers, Dark-eyed Juncos, Golden-crowned Kinglet and White-throated Sparrow. Also many Turkey Vultures, Broad-winged Hawks, and a few accipiters moving down the valley.
